No fancy terminology or pretentious remarks – just unfiltered thoughts from two gals in their mid-twenties. Butt Trauma: The Nice Guys
Tuesday Jul 06, 2021
Tuesday Jul 06, 2021
This week we review the buddy comedy, The Nice Guys (2016). God, we love a good 70s movie that wasn’t produced in the 70s. All the fun, none of the problematic scenes! Ryan Gosling is a charming alcoholic with ADHD and a porno moustache in this movie so, what more could you want?
Talking points: moral dilemmas, Immanuel Kant, Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Gosling movies, good people who happen to kill people, Letterboxd reviews, men in their 40s, Olivia’s mediocre Elvis Presley impression, and how silly Ryan Gosling is in this film.

Tuesday Jun 29, 2021
Tuesday Jun 29, 2021
Content warning: This episode discusses themes regarding sexual violence and assault.
This week we review the Academy Award Winning film, Promising Young Woman (2020). Though this episode is a bit of a heavy hitter compared to our previous ones, we enjoyed having a safe, validating space to talk about sexual assault and what its like to be a woman today and we hope you find it just as safe and validating!
Talking points: Olivia and Olexa’s dynamic and friendship, the “cool girl” myth, reality television, Olexa’s gasps, Letterboxd reviews, addressing the controversy surrounding this movie, the flaws of the main character, the term “nice guy”, reactions to sexual assault, the upper hand men have, the caricature of “the rapist”, and the ending of the film.

When Keanu Hits the Floor: The Devil's Advocate
Tuesday Jun 22, 2021
Tuesday Jun 22, 2021
This week we watch a very unhinged film that stars two Certified Film Gods Cuties, Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino. Turns out, even if Al Pacino is the literal devil himself, Olivia and Olexa still love him. Tune in and let’s chat about the mind boggling 90’s mess this movie is!
Talking points: Criminal Minds, Matthew Gray Gubler, PIG (2021), the amount of Nic Cage movies there are in the universe, the new sequel to Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (2002), The Devil’s Advocate (1997) reviews, why Donald Trump is in Home Alone: Lost in New York (1992), Al Pacino as the devil, the heterosexual male brain, and the insanity that is the last 30 minutes of this film.

Gubler Nation: Suburban Gothic
Tuesday Jun 15, 2021
Tuesday Jun 15, 2021
This week we dive head first into some Matthew Gray Gubler content with the 2015 horror comedy Suburban Gothic. Why watch a movie about a socially awkward adult man who sees ghosts and moves back in with his parents only to discover his house is haunted? Why because it stars Matthew Gray Gubler of course! And that alone is enough incentive for us.
Talking points: celeb merch, our birthdays, Al Pacino, the cook at Olivia’s work, the word ‘hottie’, Olexa’s obsession with Matthew Gray Gubler, letterboxd, The Holiday (2006), Ray Wise’s appearance, the year 2015, MGG’s fits, ghost law, Gangs of New York (2002), and Cameron Diaz’s acting.

I Feel Like Boo-Boo: Jennifer's Body
Tuesday Jun 08, 2021
Tuesday Jun 08, 2021
Happy pride month! This week, we watched the very bisexual movie, Jennifer’s Body (2009). This movie was way ahead of it’s time and was wronged by the dumb marketing guys who targeted it towards teenage boys rather than the audience it really resonates with, teenage girls. It’s hot, gory, clever, and funny...and there’s Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried, so...what more could you ask for?
Talking points: what historical events that happened on a Tuesday, birds, birthdays, female representation in horror movies, the Parent’s Guide and Letterboxd reviews of Jennifer’s Body, addressing Megan Fox hate, the iconic lines in this movie, Aquamarine (2006), J.K. Simmons, the lead singer of Maneskin, Megan Fox being psychic, astrology, and the hate women get for simply liking stuff.

I Wanna Be Sedated: I Could Never Be Your Woman
Tuesday Jun 01, 2021
Tuesday Jun 01, 2021
This week Olivia and Olexa become extremely disoriented after watching the 2007 straight to DVD movie, I Could Never Be Your Woman. This movie stars two of our faves, Michelle Pfeiffer and Paul Rudd, but even they couldn’t salvage it for us.
Talking points: Awkward intros, our perfect podcast host dynamic, what we’d change our names to, hating babies, GILFs, Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro (yes, again), age gaps, baby Saoirse Ronan, how nonsensical this movie is, George W. Bush, not simping for Paul Rudd, the movie Alfie (2004).

Power of Pacino: Frankie & Johnny
Tuesday May 25, 2021
Tuesday May 25, 2021
Well, we’ve found our new comfort movie! Al Pacino and and Michelle Pfeiffer’s performance in Frankie & Johnny (1991) made us cry a total of 3 times and Olexa fully fell in love with Al Pacino. So, this is a huge win for Olivia and clearly a very powerful movie. Convert to Al Pacino today!
Talking points: Buzzfeed quizzes, the fact that this podcast is public, tarot cards, dealbreaker or dealmaker, obsessions, Scent of a Woman (1992), the Frankie and Johnny song, Letterboxd reviews for this week's movie, Scarface (1983) and Frankie and Johnny (1991) parallels, yelling in New York City, Al Pacino’s age in this movie.

Historical Hoe: Casanova
Tuesday May 18, 2021
Tuesday May 18, 2021
In this episode, Olivia and Olexa lose their marbles over Heath Ledger’s performance in the 2005 biographical picture, Casanova. Join us as we obnoxiously become “pick me girls” for Heath Ledger and explore the real Casanova’s scandalous life.
Talking points: the word “bestie”, proposals, fax machines, libraries, Bruce Willis, John Mulaney, dogs vs cats, learning that Casanova is a real dude, our favourite Heath Ledger movies, and digging into the more risque and illegal aspects of Casanova’s life.

If the Royal Family Is In It, Stay Out: Secretariat
Tuesday May 11, 2021
Tuesday May 11, 2021
This week we review a horse movie, but it isn’t any old horse movie, its the 2010 Disney film, Secretariat. The movie is based on the real life journey of horse owner and housewife Penny Chenery and her underdog horse, Secretariat. In 1973, he became the first Triple Crown champion in 25 years and the set records he has set on races have not been beat in 48 years. So tune in and let’s be horse girls together!
Talking points: more dealbreakers, Olivia frantically explains her new obsession with Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, our top things about men, Olivia regresses into her horse girl personality, Usain Bolt, Penny Chenery’s divorce, Olivia wanting to be a jockey, and Olexa’s history of competitive swimming.
Correction: Olivia says that Secretariat’s heart is 8 times larger than it should have been, thats a lot and that is also wrong. It was two and half times larger than a normal horse heart, which is still a lot but not 8 that’s for sure.

Hill After Hill: The Hunger Games
Tuesday Apr 27, 2021
Tuesday Apr 27, 2021
This episode we watch The Hunger Games for the first time since it came out in 2012. It’s more messed up than we remember it being and surprisingly, it has stood the test of time. Tune in and let’s reminisce on our pre-teen days together.
Talking points: the idea of disposable bodies, skateboarding, special Clover appearance, dealmakers vs dealbreakers, cocaine, Olexa proves to have an encyclopedic knowledge of the Hunger Games series, Harry Potter deaths, Russia, beach waves, and what would happen if we were in the Hunger Games.
