Chantum Physics: The Wolf of Wall Street
Tuesday Sep 21, 2021
Tuesday Sep 21, 2021
Some have called it “degenerate filth” others have called it Scorsese’s “magnum opus”, but we just call it “crazy”. It’s The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), baby! This week we dive into the frat-boy cult that is New York’s Wall Street and boy, is it a lot to take in. This movie is like a fraudulent Great Gatsby mixed with a hint of Titanic. Very chaotic, very insane.
Just a heads up: In the last 20 minutes Olexa’s phone stopped recording so her audio is a bit quiet and distant.
Talking points: our knowledge of Martin Scorsese movies, women in Scorsese movies, parent and kid reviews of the film, the romanticization of Jordan Belfort, fact vs fiction, the celebrities we fear, celeb gossip, rating Matthew McConaughey, who we would switch bodies with, Zoe Kravitz and Channing Tatum (again), and Jordon Belfort’s first wife.

I Guess?!: Horse Girl
Tuesday Sep 14, 2021
Tuesday Sep 14, 2021
Horse Girl (2020) is our movie for this week and it is wild. It stirred up a lot of questions surrounding life and death. This episode, we ask questions like, “what if I am reincarnated as a rat?” and “is it rude to reject someone on the basis of cannibalism?”. So strap in folks, this one is an existentialism doozy.
Talking points: Snowpiercer (2013), dealmaker vs dealbreakers, The Donner Party, cannibalism, Chris Evans, MCU actors, time loops, life after death, and other existential queries.

Fountain of Bullsh*t: He‘s All That
Tuesday Sep 07, 2021
Tuesday Sep 07, 2021
A deranged movie, another pandemic within the pandemic, the movie Gen Z deserves. These are just some of what has been said about the new remake of She’s All That (1999), He’s All That (2021). Starring the notorious Addison Rae, our feelings for this movie can be summed up by a simple snippet from a Letterboxd review that called it “…so incompetent in so many aspects that I found it sincerely enjoyable to watch”.
Talking points: our feelings about Addison Rae, Kendall Jenner, Letterboxd Corner, Joey King, Jacob Elordi, boy names, men without social media, highschool, the makeover, bloopers, the names in the movie, the wardrobe, the Teenage Dream scene, and phones in films.

Old Timey Sexism: Red Eye
Tuesday Aug 31, 2021
Tuesday Aug 31, 2021
Economic thriller alert! If you don’t know what that means, that’s okay because we don’t either! Red Eye (2005) is our first Wes Craven film and it’s a solid one at that. It gave us Rachel McAdams being a badass and Cillian Murphy choking her in an airplane bathroom (hot!!!). Anyways, this one is for all you Cillian fans.
Talking points: smoking cigarettes, watching the trailer, Cillian Murphy, Letterboxd Corner, youtube trailer comments, sexism, and 2000’s fashion.

1-800-BEYOTCH: She's the Man
Tuesday Aug 24, 2021
Tuesday Aug 24, 2021
As I sat there, watching the 2006 romantic comedy She’s The Man, on my laptop via Zoom screen share, I couldn’t help but wonder...am *I* the Man? Anyways, that’s a question for later. For now, we just want you to listen to our review of She’s The Man and Channing Tatum’s latest look. It starts off strong with a bad (but brave) Al Pacino impression and it only gets better (worse) from there!
Talking points: Al Pacino in Frankie and Johnny (1991), Channing Tatum, The Amanda Bynes Cinematic Universe, Letterboxd Corner, William Shakespeare’s thoughts on modern renditions of his work, our “not-like-other-girls” phases, our childhood and teenage selves, dealmaker vs dealbreaker segment, iconic lines, and flashing.

Mo' Money Mo' Secrets: Ready or Not
Tuesday Aug 10, 2021
Tuesday Aug 10, 2021
We all dream of marrying rich, but I bet you didn’t factor in crazy in-laws who want to kill you! This week’s movie follows a woman who marries into a wealthy family and then has to play a super messed up game of hide-and-go-seek with her new in-laws. Ready or Not (2019) taught us a lot, like not to trust (rich) in-laws or children! Press play and remember, eat the rich!
Talking points: Lil Jon, Ivana Trump in First Wives Clubs (1996), Letterboxd Corner, Twister with relatives, movie star signs, the ways people died in the film, rich people family secrets, a hide-and-go-seek story, sleepovers, Olexa’s past life, Adam Brody’s lack of trustworthiness, and our advice based on this movie.

Himbo DILF Dad: She's All That
Tuesday Aug 03, 2021
Tuesday Aug 03, 2021
We truly thrive watching 90’s rom-coms and we are back at it again with the 1999 film, She’s All That. Starring Freddie Prince Jr and some girl named Rachael Leigh Cook, this 90’s film actually managed to surpass our (very) low expectations. With this movie taking place in high school, we naturally reminisce on our somewhat insufferable high school selves, so press play and let’s take a trip down memory lane together!
Talking points: Nic Cage’s birth chart, who discovered Justin Beiber, Old (2021) memes, Zola (2021), Letterboxd Corner, Sexy Beasts, Linda Cardellini, Gabrielle Union’s Presidency campaign, Olivia’s Grade 12 math teacher, our high school personas, dance choreography, Matthew Lillard, and the end scene of the movie.

Lots of exciting stuff! Enjoy!
Talking points: our technological difficulties, Letterboxd corner, Olivia struggling with words and asking for it to be cut out only for it not to be cut out so thanks for that Olexa, Olivia kills a bug, how our moms would react to the movie, Alex Wolff’s character, cry count, and The Naked Brothers Band.

Shiver Me Timbers: Saint Maud
Tuesday Jul 13, 2021
Tuesday Jul 13, 2021
This week’s movie is the 2019 A24 horror film, Saint Maud! We were definitely horrified by this movie, so make sure you’re ready to be spooked before watching it. Also, we immediately spoil the ending in the review portion of this episode, so proceed with caution.
Talking points: Olivia’s hobbies, friends not knowing anything about you, Olivia’s Elvis impression continued, accents, PIG (2021), A24 horror movies, the final scene of Saint Maud, and God’s pronouns.
