A Bit Too Russian: House of Gucci
Tuesday Nov 30, 2021
Tuesday Nov 30, 2021
As you all should know by now, we rate movies based on how much fun we had watching them. And let me tell you, we had a lot of fun watching House of Gucci. Were the accents supposed to be this comedic? Probably not. Were we supposed to laugh this hard throughout the movie? Maybe? Either way – we found it an enjoyable experience. It was everything we love – fashion, murderous women, and extravagance. Also, the cast is stacked! Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, Adam Diver, LADY GAGA. I don’t care if this movie is technically good or bad. We had a hell of a time.
Talking points: how to sneak someone into a movie theatre, approval from authority, Letterboxd Corner, Old (2021), Jared Leto and Al Pacino’s characters, Adam Driver’s sexiness, divorce, movie scores, and the Italian life and language.

Robert Chicken: The Craft (1996)
Tuesday Nov 02, 2021
Tuesday Nov 02, 2021
In the last instalment of the Halloween series we watch the super goth, super camp film. The Craft (1996) in our Halloween costumes. A weird amount of singing and a pretty normal amount of accents happen in this episode so prep yourself for that and then join us as we review this 90’s teen witch movie in our Lydia and Lady Bird costumes.
Talking points: shoplifting, Lady Bird (2017), the name Skeet Ulrich, how this movie could be gayer, a bad bad bad John Lennon impression, a made-up game show where renowned film directors have to make a good but also shitty rom-com, how female villains are scarier than male villains, picnics, and what we would do if we had powers.

BRB, Committing Murder: Halloween (1978)
Tuesday Oct 26, 2021
Tuesday Oct 26, 2021
You can’t review scary movies without reviewing the movie that started the slasher genre! It’s the original Halloween (1978), baby! First of all, we love how John Carpenter just plugs his own movie in this film. Hustler. Also, his thriftiness and frugalness is something that we, as university students, can very much appreciate. We love this film and above all, we love the scream queen herself, Jamie-Lee Curtis.
Talking points: Gilmore Girls, podcast voices, last names, Halloween (1978) facts, most popular baby names in 1978, Letterboxd Corner, Olivia’s original film Zombie Horse, how scary young men and 16 year olds can be, how scary and silly Micheal Myers is, how stupid the local cop is, and the speed at which slasher villains recover.

Shelley DuBald: The Shining
Tuesday Sep 28, 2021
Tuesday Sep 28, 2021
We have officially entered Halloween season and how better to kick it off than with the incredibly iconic 1980’s film, The Shining. This episode starts off with us rebranding ourselves as a gossip podcast and ending with us making fun of children. Anyways, hopefully you enjoy listening to Olivia painfully try to guess a very popular movie because that’s about 15 minutes of the intro.
Talking points: gossip and the lore behind it, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, watching movies alone vs with friends, Jack being the worst dude, The Shining trivia, leftovers, carpets in houses, and a harsh self-reflection on our film opinions.
